What a fantastic weekend. Four 3 hour sessions in two days... Friday afternoon 7m weather. Two sessions on saturday on the 9m kite (though a little overpowered at times in the morning) Nice big waves at times, bit messy at other states of the tide. Got woken up at 6am today when wetsuit started clanking having left it hanging on the van. Tide low and sea looked to have nice smooth waves so rigged up for a dawn raid (trying not to wake up the rest of the vans :) Nicely powered on the 9 and the wind was just right for surfing the waves. Occasional shower but mostly dry - even a few glimmers of sun occasionally. After the tide started rising the waves started breaking and water got generally choppy so ended up going up to the estuary mouth to see if anyone up early from boardwise. Had some fun in the flat water but risk going much past the green channel marker buoy due to the wind shadow on the Aberdovey side. Lots of vans but only a few dog walkers on the beach at 7am.... Wind eventually started easing down so a long leisurely down winder back to Ynyslas. About 10am but now and one or two people just starting to appear on the beach. Just got home and rinsed kit and the GrandPrix is about to start. Fantastic weekend. 5 stars just because of the numbers of hours on the water in two days.
